The game works best with teams of 4–8 people. Large groups can play in parallel.

A laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection is ideal. Participants need access to the game environment (via link). Audio is optional but recommended for an optimal experience. For hybrid/remote teams, a standard video call alongside the game works fine.

Off the Map can be used entirely digitally, both at an individual and team level. In addition, the program can be expanded with:

  • a personal explanation of the results

  • team sessions or presentations to interpret insights together

  • guidance in implementing the action and development plan

  • a follow-up process (PDCA cycle) to measure, secure, and further develop effects

Off the Map is also excellent for use as an onboarding tool.
