Frequently asked questions
How long does implementation take?
The game can be rolled out within a single day. For blended programs, a schedule is put together in consultation.
What kind of data do we get back?
Organizations receive:
- Team reports
- Understanding patterns, strengths, and risks
- AI-interpreted behavioral data
- Concrete development paths and recommendations
- This data is fully anonymized in accordance with the GDPR.
Is Off the Map suitable for large organizations?
Yes. For organizations with 5,000+ employees, there is:
- Enterprise SaaS
- Consultancy support
- Analytics and dashboards
- Activate multiple teams in parallel
How many participants can join?
The game works best with teams of 4–8 people. Large groups can play in parallel.
What do participants need to join? (Technical requirements)
A laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection is ideal. Participants need access to the game environment (via link). Audio is optional but recommended for an optimal experience. For hybrid/remote teams, a standard video call alongside the game works fine.
In what ways can Off the Map be used within organizations?
Off the Map can be used entirely digitally, both at an individual and team level. In addition, the program can be expanded with:
a personal explanation of the results
team sessions or presentations to interpret insights together
guidance in implementing the action and development plan
a follow-up process (PDCA cycle) to measure, secure, and further develop effects
Off the Map is also excellent for use as an onboarding tool.
New employees first gain insight into their own communication and collaboration style: how they share information, deal with differences, and approach problems. This helps them become more aware of their own role and impact within a team context.
Based on that personal insight, they learn to recognize different perspectives and develop a shared language for collaboration and problem solving from day one. This makes joining a team more effective, accelerates integration, and increases the chance of successful collaboration, even before they are fully part of the existing team dynamics.
What happens after the game: will we get a follow-up or plan?
Yes. In addition to immediate action points, a short follow-up process can be added, for example:
- 2–4 week “micro-habits” and check-ins
- team agreements (ways of working)
- a repeat measurement to show progress.
This makes the impact sustainable and measurable.
What problems does Off the Map solve?
- Suboptimal collaboration in hybrid or diverse teams
- Lack of psychological safety → declining innovation and productivity
- Traditional training courses are too expensive, too slow, and have little lasting impact.
- Teams work at cross-purposes, leading to noise, misunderstandings, and delays.
How exactly does the experience work?
In one hour, participants go through an AI-driven survival game. As the team makes choices, the AI discovers patterns in collaboration, communication, and psychological safety. At the end, the team receives immediate feedback, action points, and a report for individual and team growth.
How does Off the Map differ from other team games or training programs?
- Deeper and evidence-based than fun-only games
- Shorter, more scalable, and cheaper than consultancy training courses
- Unique use of AI: real-time insights, personalized feedback, and measurable ROI
- No PowerPoint — just an immersive, interactive experience
In which languages can Off the Map be played?
Off the Map is available in Dutch and English. This makes the game suitable for both local and international teams, and for organizations with a multilingual or hybrid working environment.
